Retinyl palmitate is the palmitate ester of vitamin A, a form of vitamin A similar to retinol. It is used as a cosmetic active in formulations targeting the appearance of ageing skin, and as a skin-conditioning agent across many skincare types.
Typical use levels are 0.1 - 2.0%. Note that levels above 2% are considered medicines and are regulated by Medsafe.
