Salmon DNA (PDRN) 5000ppm Solution

Salmon DNA — also listed as PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) or polynucleotide — is a marine-derived active supplied here as a ready-to-use 5000 ppm (0.5%) aqueous solution. It is the ingredient behind the much-discussed "salmon DNA" skincare category.

PDRN consists of low-molecular-weight DNA fragments sourced from salmon. Because the nucleotide sequence is highly conserved between salmon and human DNA, the fragments are well tolerated on skin. In topical use it is valued for supporting skin hydration, comfort and barrier condition, and it pairs well with peptides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid in serum and essence formats.

Supplied fully dissolved via high-pressure processing, so it incorporates cleanly without the clumping that dry nucleotide powders can cause.

Formulating with it

• Solubility: water-soluble; already in solution and ready to use.
• Phase: add to the water phase during cool-down. Like most biological actives it is heat-sensitive, so avoid holding it at elevated temperature.
• Preservation: this is a water-based material — a broad-spectrum preservative system is essential in any finished formulation.
• Pairs with: hyaluronic acid, panthenol, niacinamide, peptides, beta glucan.

Storage

Store sealed, cool and out of direct light. Use promptly once opened.
