Guar Gum (INCI: Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum) is a galactomannan polysaccharide used as a thickener, gelling agent and emulsion stabiliser. It hydrates in the water phase to build viscosity, suspend particulates and stabilise emulsions, and is used in skincare, haircare and as a food ingredient.
Typical use levels: Skin creams - 0.1 - 0.5%
Gels - 0.2 - 1.5%
Crafts - used to thicken dyes and the burn-out/devoré paste during burn-out processes Extremely stable to extremes of pH i.e. strong acid or alkaline conditions.
