East Cape Kanuka Essential Oil

INCI: Kunzea ericoides (Kanuka) Leaf and Branch Oil.

East Cape Kanuka Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of wild-grown Kunzea ericoides trees in the East Cape of New Zealand. It has a sweet, herbaceous and earthy scent and is used in laundry and household preparations, insect repellent products, and skin, hair and foot care formulations.

Māori have traditionally used this versatile oil for a variety of purposes. Alpha-pinene is one of its principal constituents. With a sweet, herbaceous, and earthy scent, Kanuka oil is lighter than Manuka oil and is quickly absorbed by the skin. Applications: skincare, haircare and footcare formulations; insect repellent products; and aromatherapy blends for calming and relaxation.
