INCI: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder

Aloe Vera Powder 200:1 is Aloe barbadensis inner leaf juice concentrated 200-fold and dried to a fine, free-flowing, water-soluble powder. One gram replaces 200g of single-strength aloe juice, delivering the polysaccharide fraction of aloe (principally acemannan) in a concentrated, low-water-activity form that is lighter to ship and more shelf-stable than liquid aloe juice or gel.

Function in formulation

• Reconstitutes in water to produce single-strength aloe juice or a base for aloe gels
• Humectant and skin-conditioning botanical for the water phase of creams, lotions, serums, toners and mists
• Adds aloe content to hair care: shampoos, conditioners and leave-in treatments
• Suitable for anhydrous and powder formats, such as cleansing powders, powdered masks and water-activated products
• Allows a declared aloe content without adding significant water to the formula

How to use

• For single-strength (1x) aloe juice equivalent: 1g powder in 199g water (0.5% w/w)
• 50g makes approx. 10L, 100g approx. 20L and 500g approx. 100L of single-strength juice equivalent
• Disperse into the cool water phase with stirring and allow to fully hydrate before adding other ingredients
• Avoid prolonged high heat; add below 40°C where possible
• Water-containing formulations require a broad-spectrum preservative system
