Zinc Ricinoleate (Pellet)
Zinc Ricinoleate is a naturally derived, high-performance odour absorber for aluminium-free deodorants and odour-control formulations. The zinc salt of ricinoleic acid — sourced from castor oil — it works by chemically trapping odour molecules rather than masking them, without blocking perspiration. It has no bactericidal or fungicidal action, so it won't disrupt the skin's natural flora, making it well suited to sensitive-skin formulations.
Supplied as easy-to-melt, wax-like pellets, COSMOS-compatible and biodegradable.
Key benefits
- Neutralises odour without inhibiting natural perspiration (not an antiperspirant)
- Gentle and non-irritating — suitable for sensitive skin
- Biodegradable and naturally derived from renewable castor oil
- Works in stick, balm, emulsion and cream formats
Typical uses: deodorant sticks and balms, emulsion deodorants, foot creams, and household/laundry odour control.
How to use: Oil-soluble — add to the oil phase and melt with your other oils and waxes (melting point ~71°C; heat the oil phase to ~80°C), then emulsify as usual. Typical use level 1.5–3%.
