SNAP‑8 Peptide (SNAP 8)
SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) — 500ppm ready-to-use solution
SNAP-8 is an eight-amino-acid peptide developed as a successor to Argireline, and one of the most widely used expression-line actives in modern skincare. It works on the SNAP-25 protein involved in neuromuscular signalling, softening the appearance of dynamic lines — forehead lines, crow's feet and the lines around the mouth — rather than acting on skin structure.
It is supplied here pre-diluted at 500ppm active, ready to be blended straight into your formulation.
How to use
- Use level: 3–10% of your total formula. This refers to the solution as supplied, not the pure peptide. 10% is the upper end of the useful range — going higher simply dilutes your other actives.
- Add to the water phase at cool-down, once your mixture is below 40°C. The peptide is heat-sensitive.
- Formulate at pH 5.0–7.0.
- Do not apply neat to the skin. This is a formulation additive, not a finished product — always blend it into a serum, gel or cream, and patch test any new formula before regular use.
Pairs well with
Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8) and Syn-Ake equivalent, both of which work on related but distinct pathways. Also works well alongside hyaluronic acid, panthenol and the Matrixyl-family collagen peptides in a single serum.

Published data
Studies on acetyl octapeptide-3 solutions at 10% use level, applied twice daily for 28 days, reported reductions in the depth of eye-area wrinkles measured by confocal profilometry. Acetyl octapeptide-3 is generally reported as more active than its predecessor acetyl hexapeptide-8 at equivalent use levels. Published data relates to the peptide generally; results in any finished formula depend on the full formulation and on individual skin.
