Shea Butter Refined
INCI: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter
Shea Butter has many uses from food, haircare, skincare, pharmaceuticals and all types of personal care products.
The Shea nut is famous worldwide for the fatty kernel it contains, which is extracted and kneaded into a paste that becomes raw Shea butter; from there it is either refined and deodorized, or it is sold in the raw form. Shea butter is very rich in active ingredients, and provides intensive nourishing and protective properties. Suitable for all skin types, the blend of fatty acids, phytonutrients and actives helps prevent dehydration and dryness.
The Shea tree grows wild in Eastern and Western African countries such as Senegal, Burkino Faso and Uganda, where it takes over 20 years for the Shea tree to start bearing nuts. They can tolerate the hot, dry conditions, and need little water to survive, so are perfectly suited to this environment.
Shea Butter is commonly applied to the skin for moisturisation, relieving acne, burns, dandruff, dry skin, stretch marks, eczema, and many other skin conditions.
