Seabuckthorn Oil (CO2 extracted)
A deep orange-red lipid extract obtained by supercritical CO2 extraction of seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) berries — a solvent-free method that captures the fruit's full spectrum of carotenoids, tocopherols and fatty acids in a concentrated, pure oil.
Seabuckthorn CO2 is prized in skincare for its exceptionally high palmitoleic acid (omega-7) content — a fatty acid found naturally in skin — alongside omega-3, 6 and 9, vitamin E, and the carotenoids that give it its vivid colour. It's traditionally used to support skin regeneration, barrier repair, and mature or stressed skin.
A little goes a long way: the intense pigment means it's typically used as an active at low percentages (0.5–5%) in facial oils, balms, serums and after-sun formulations, or diluted into a lighter carrier before direct use.
