Oliwax® is a plant-derived stabilising agent made from ultra-refined olive oil. It gels the oil phase of O/W and W/O emulsions and is suited to anhydrous and make-up systems, where it forms a network with the other oil-phase components. It is a waxy solid in flake form at 20°C (white to ivory flakes with a slight characteristic odour), has a melting range of 60 – 70°C, and is COSMOS-compliant. Recommended use level is 1% – 3%.
