Emulsifier O - Olivem 1000 olive oil derived emulsifier

Emulsifier 'O', also known as Sorbitan Olivate/Cetearyl Olivate or by the brand name "Olivem 1000" is an easy to use, non-ionic emulsifier developed from natural olive derivatives. It is an oil-in-water emulsifier and thickener which is compatible with a wide variety of cosmetic and active ingredients over a wide pH range (3 to 12).

Emulsifier O may be used for making creams, lotions, exfoliating creams, facial and body scrubs and face masks.

Typically used at 2 - 5% on the total weight of the formulation. Needs to be melted and emulsified with the oils and waxes at about 65 - 75 C, then vigourously mixed whilst being added to the water phase. A stick mixer is ideal for creating emulsions with Emulsifier O.
