Dobanic acid, also known as DDBSA is a very versatile raw material for making soaps, liquid laundry detergents, hard surface cleaners, metal cleaners, fabric-desizers and liquid soaps.

Dobanic acid must first be added to a solution of an alkali such as Sodium Hydroxide, Triethanolamine (TEA) or Potassium Hydroxide, to react it and make the actual soap.

It is then modified with other ingredients such as salts, solvents, secondary detergents and sequestrants to create the final product.
