Diatomaceous Earth, also known as DE, fossil shell flour, kieselguhr or diatomite, is a very useful powder made from the fossilised skeletons of marine diatoms (single-celled organisms), and the deposits from which diatomaceous earth is mined, are up to 65 million years old.

Diatomaceous Earth is used for a wide range of applications, including;

Skincare Great as a mild natural abrasive for scrubs and exfoliants

Metal polishing Mild abrasive for metal polishing, similar abrasiveness as pumice powder

Insecticide Used as an insectidial dust, kills insects by dehydration of the exoskeleton

De-worming agent For control of parasitic worms in cattle
