Dermofeel PA-3 Natural Chelant

Dermofeel PA-3 is a liquid chelating agent based on Sodium Phytate that binds metal ions such as calcium, magnesium and iron. Sodium Phytate is an all-natural chelating agent and is used as a natural alternative to Disodium and Tetrasodium EDTA in cosmetic products. It boosts the performance of preservatives and helps to prevent undesirable metal-catalyzed reactions such as enzymes that require metal ions, thereby stabilizing cosmetic products. It may help prevent discoloration and metal-catalysed rancidity of vegetable oils and butters that may be present in formulations. Sodium Phytate works synergistically with other antioxidants such as ascorbic acid, rosemary oleoresin, retinyl palmitate and ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate.

Sodium Phytate is readily biodegradable, and does not have ecotoxic properties.

Sodium Phytate can be used in all types of skin, hair and footcare products, at a use level of 0.05 - 0.5 %.

Note that this is an acidic product and may reduce the pH of formulations, and as such some pH adjustment may be needed.
