Coco Glucoside / Glyceryl Oleate
Coco Glucoside / Glyceryl Oleate (INCI: Coco-Glucoside & Glyceryl Oleate) is a natural, plant-derived refatting and mildness agent for wash-off and leave-on formulations. Made from renewable coconut and vegetable sources, it is non-ionic, readily biodegradable and gentle enough for sensitive-skin and baby care products.
It is best known as the refatting/super-fatting component behind soft, conditioned skin feel in cleansers — reducing the tightness that surfactants can leave behind while also acting as a natural opacifier and pearlising agent, and helping to stabilise and improve the feel of foam.
Typical uses
- Shampoos, body washes, hand washes and facial cleansers — as a refatting agent and mildness booster
- Micellar waters and cleansing milks
- Baby and sensitive-skin cleansers
- Natural opacifier / pearlising co-surfactant in surfactant systems
How to use
- Typical use level: approximately 1–4% of the total formula.
- Add to the water/surfactant phase. Gentle warming (around 40–50°C) helps it disperse evenly; avoid overheating.
- Suitable for a wide range of cold- and warm-processed cleansing formulations.
Appearance: pale, slightly viscous liquid. Origin: coconut / vegetable derived. Store cool and sealed, out of direct sunlight.
