Organic Guar Gum is a versatile thickener, gelling agent and stabiliser. It is used in skincare, haircare, as a food ingredient and as a stabiliser for emulsions.
Certified Organic Guar Gum is extracted from the polysaccharide-rich endosperm of the Guar bean. This water-soluble, non-ionic thickener is highly versatile and can be incorporated into a variety of personal care, technical and industrial products. The gel is produces can accommodate small amounts of oil, preventing the oil droplets from combining and maintaining product stability by preventing solid particles from settling. For best results, mix with a liquid humectant like glycerine, propylene glycol or propanediol before adding to water, or use high shear to combine. Allow the gum sufficient time to fully hydrate before adding other ingredients.
For skin creams - utilise 0.1 - 0.5%
Gels - use 0.2 - 1.5%
Crafts - used to thicken dyes and the burn-out/devore paste during burn out processes. Extremely stable to extremes of pH i.e. strong acid or alkaline conditions.
