Calcium carbonate, also known as Chalk or Whiting, is a very fine, white mineral powder used for a wide range of applications, including;
Pigment Used to give a white colour to plastics, resins, paints and polymers
Filler For casein, pastels, gesso and Gouache
Exfoliant For body scrubs, heavy duty hand cleaners and facial masques and polishes
Agriculture Used to increase the pH of "sour" soils which discourages the growth of many weed species
Construction Used as a filler for some putties, plus as a house building material
