C30 Silicone Resin Wax (SW-8005)
INCI: C30-45 Alkyldimethylsilyl Polypropylsilsesquioxane
CAS: 955920-25-9
C30 Silicone Resin Wax is a hybrid silicone resin wax. It is a propylsilsesquioxane resin grafted with C30–45 alkyl chains. It combines the film-forming behaviour of a silicone resin with the oil compatibility of a hydrocarbon wax. In use it gives flexible, transfer-resistant and wash-off-resistant films, and adds structure to both anhydrous and emulsion systems.
Functions: film former, structuring agent, rheology and texture modifier.
Applications
- Lipsticks, liquid lips and glosses: stick structure, transfer resistance, gloss, colour intensity
- Mascara, brow and cream colour: film formation, wash-off resistance, pigment coverage and uniformity
- O/W and W/O emulsions and anhydrous gels: texture and viscosity building
- Sun care: improves the durability of the film on skin
- Antiperspirant/deodorant sticks and hair styling products
Typical use levels: emulsions 2–10% · colour cosmetics 4–10% · lipsticks 5–20%
Properties: white to off-white flakes · melting point approx. 66°C · SG approx. 0.8 · 100% active · synthetic, vegan. It is compatible with esters, vegetable oils including castor, organic waxes (candelilla, ozokerite), silicone fluids and fragrance.
How to use: Melt into the oil phase. For emulsions, heat the oil phase to 75°C so the wax melts completely before emulsifying.
Storage & handling: Keep sealed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from heat and ignition sources. Avoid contact with water, alcohols, acids, bases and oxidisers, because contact can release small amounts of flammable hydrogen gas.
