Black Himalayan Volcanic Rock Salt Coarse Grade

Black Himalayan Volcanic Rock Salt is chemically similar to table salt. It contains up to 98 percent sodium chloride. The rest of the salt consists of trace minerals, such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium. These give the salt its purplish-black tint.

Himalayan black salt may also be called Indian black salt, or kala namak.

Culinary: with a pungent, savoury, "umami" flavour, it is commonly used in cooking, especially in Asian and Indian cuisine.

Due to its subtle, sulphurous aroma similar to eggs, it's also used in vegan cooking to provide an egg-like flavour.

Skincare: the coarse grade is useful in products such as salt scrubs and exfoliants, where it acts as a mechanical exfoliant, and in salt sprays.   Commonly formulated into products for rough, dry skin on heels and calluses, and for the feel of dry, itchy skin.
